Brandon Steele

Brandon Steele began his artistic career as a graphic designer in 2006, the same year he began studying illustration at California State University, Fullerton where he graduated in 2011.  His creative work ranges greatly and includes commercial designs for print media, branding and identity design, web design, mobile gaming art, commissioned fine art painting, children’s illustrations, “blueprint” artwork, and most recently illustrating on organic pumpkins for Jack O’Lantern art shows in Los Angeles, CA.   In spite of a very diverse portfolio, Brandon hopes to build his career around his love of visual storytelling, particularly involving children’s stories.

Although most of his design and illustration work happens digitally, Brandon still finds fulfilment in physical media, most notably in plein air painting with oils.  His love of traditional media heavily influences his digital illustration style.  Brandon also finds influence in the mid-century designs of the 1950’s and ‘60’s, and the American Golden Age illustrators including J.C. Leyendecker, Norman Rockewell, and NC Wyeth.  His contemporary influences are too many to list.
